Phosphate, an element present in all living cells, is a key component of fertilizer and is heavily mined in central Florida, the Western Sahara desert, Morocco, and China. Abrasion-resistant and induction hardened pipe is utilized in the pumping of phosphate in slurry form from the excavation sites to the processing facilities.

When it comes to erosive ware, abrasion-resistant piping systems and components save money by lowering maintenance and repair costs and greatly extending replacement intervals.

For more severe wear, the preferred choice of many abrasion-resistant systems is Edgen Ultra 600. This Induction-hardened pipe exhibits a 600 I.D. brinell that transitions through the wall thickness. It can be cut and welded with proper procedures and typically lasts as much as 6 to 9 times as long as mild steel.  In addition to Edgen Ultra 600, Edgen Murray’s extensive selection of induction-hardened products also includes:
